Sophisticated interface
The bright flip-out 3.5-inch TFT screen allows users to preview images before printing and photo editing. It also has a new Easy-Scroll Wheel interface that includes editing, copying, printing, and scanning options.
Advanced copy technology
The MP960 employs advanced copy technology to give you precise reproductions of original images and documents. Canon's Dual Color Gamut Processing Technology improves color accuracy by independently controlling brightness, hue, and other elements to make sure there are minimal differences between the original and the copy.
Wired or wireless
When used with a supported Canon digital SLR, the MP960 supports the user-friendly Canon-to-Canon Direct Advantage. Connected via the PictBridge port, the Canon-to-Canon connection allows users to brighten faces, print shooting information on a print, or even print a contact sheet with up to 35 images all directly from the camera controls without a PC. The Canon-to-Canon workflow allows you to take advantage of added convenience and the power to produce outstanding image quality directly from the camera to the printer without the need for a PC.
What's in the Box
Pixma MP960 Photo All-In-One, power cord, print head, ink tanks, PGI-5 black, CLI-8 (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Photo Cyan, Photo Magenta), film adapter unit, easy setup instructions, document kit, setup software and user's guide CD-ROM, quick start guide, and registration card.

Seems to be a GREAT Product!
For those who are worried about COMPLEX setups with NEW products, this one was pretty straight forward. Canon providsa BIG (Picture Oriented) setup guide which is pretty easy to follow. Once it was setup, it took awhile to figure out the controls, but the output is SIMPLY astonishing! Photos, copies, scans are really exceptionally impressive, I should know, I own a VERY EXPENSIVE Color wide format printer and this machince rivals its output! I would have never believed it unless I saw with my own eyes! The only reason I am not giving this machine 5 Stars is because I haven't had the opportunity to really see what it all can do, thus I am leaving a little wiggle room for possible disappointments, but really, I don't that there will be any! Another great product from Canon and I was always an EPSON Guy! This machine will be used for my assistant and she really won't appreciate the quality like I do!

Great. When it works...
I've had this printer for about a year and a half now. I received it as a Christmas gift. I'm greatful for that because knowing that I paid for this thing would make me even more angry and frustrated when it doesn't work.
It does a great job printing pictures and scanning. I haven't really had any problems with dull scans like other reviewrs have mentioned.
My biggest problem with this item is the fact that one minute it starts right up prints what it should and then about 50-60% of the time it pretends like it's going to print ( I hear things shifting and making noise inside for about a minute or so)only to get message saying that it doesn't recognize a one of the printer cartridges. It usually picks the yellow one, which I have replaced with no lasting results, but it switches up sometimes. It also tells me constantly that the ink levels are low when the cartridges are half full or more. Maybe it's a pessimist. I still have my HP OfficeJet K80xi. Although I shouldn't have to, I think I'm going to have to resort to using the HP for printing documents and the Canon for scanning and printing photos. Customer service is medocre. I contacted them about the problem and they suggested I replace all of the ink cartridges??? At - a piece for 7 of them and no guarantee that's what the problem is why would I do that? It has limited use for me, but at least the functions I use on it turn out a good product. Hence the three stars.

Pixma 960 printer
The printer functions well as a printer and copier. The printer can be used via bluetooth to print in another location, but I have been unable to achieve this with scanning which means I have to have the printer attached to the computer. This defeats the purpose for having purchased a bluetooth item.

Slodog
The only thing that is missing in an automatic feeder. I had some old slides that I scanned and they came out beautiful. Old faded memories came to light again. I had an HP before but I won't go back. Cannon is better all the way around.

The i70 connects via USB, parallel port, or CompactFlash Type II slot for easy interfacing, and can print from supported Canon digital cameras and camcorders, with or without a PC. Both Windows and Mac drivers are included; and for PCs only, wireless infrared IrDA printing is available with Windows-compatible devices.
Truly mobile, this lightweight printer (4 pounds) fits nicely into most briefcases, measuring just 12.4 by 6.9 by 2.0 inches when closed. You can run the i70 with the included AC power adapter or buy the optional Portable Kit, which includes a lithium ion battery rated for 450 pages per 2-hour charge and a battery holder to charge the battery while attached to the printer.
A wide variety of paper types are supported, including envelopes, glossy photo paper, matte photo paper, transparencies, T-shirt transfers, and more, as well as paper sizes from 4 by 6 inches to A4. The software bundle helps users get the most out of their prints with Easy-PhotoPrint, Easy-WebPrint, PhotoRecord, ZoomBrowser EX, ImageBrowser, and PhotoStitch. Epson also provides a one-year limited warranty.
What's in the Box
Printer, sheet feeder, paper tray, power supply and cord, BCI-15 black ink tank, BCI-15 color ink tank, software and driver CD-ROM, instructions, setup and warranty information

Very, Very Good
I love this printer for photos, it prints so well that you can't tell they aren't from a photo developing store.

CHEAP Ink Cartridges
In addition to all of the other "Kudos" awarded to this printer by the other reviewers, I want to add the following. While the price of "Genuine Canon" ink cartridges may (does) border on outright robbery, you DON'T have to buy them. Compatible cartridges are dirt cheap at places like "inkquik.com". If you buy a refill kit from say, "abcink.com", you can refill your own for pennies each. I do, they are VERY easy to refill, work as good as new, and canon even gives you a "Reset Ink Level" option under the print driver "maintenance" section. YAY Canon -- DOWN for HP !!!!

Planned Obsolescence
As a road warrior, I bought the i70 to replace my old Canon BJC-85, and to use with my Powerbook G4. On the plus side, it is fast and prints reasoably good text, and very good photos if you use photo paper. The black ink tank could be bigger, but that is a minor issue. It is the smallest printer of its type that I have seen.
The real problem is that at a certain point, you will have to replace the waste ink tank, something that I did not have to do with previous Canon printers. This is not something you can do yourself; you must send or take the printer to an authorized service facility, and pay around 5 for the replacement. That is equal to half of what I paid for the printer approximately 2 years ago. And if you ignore the warning light, the printer will just quit on you in the middle of an important print job.
Cannon says that as a "loyal" customer, they will give you a discount on a new printer, instead of replacing the waste ink tank, however, they will not tell you what that discount is up front. Further, a tech at the service facility told me the newer models, such as the i80 and ip90 have the same flaw engineered into the product. Seems like Canon has decided their authorized service facilities are more important than their customers.
I wrote to Canon, and received the reply that my comments would be directed to the appropriate person. I hope so.

Small & Convenient
I had this printer for about a year and had no complaints whatsoever. Ink can get a bit pricey but there's always Cartridge World who will refill both tanks for . I am on the road a lot and the size is extremely convenient, put it in your bag, get it out in the hotel, and boom, you got yourself a small office. Highly recommended. Hint: It's quite sensitive so don't put it in a bag that you'll check @ the airport. I did that for the 1st time last week, and when I plugged it I had an "out of paper" error even tough the tray was full. Through some research I found out that through bag checkout they had bent a piece that senses for paper, so I just bent it back and the problem was gone!

Great Quality but wastes a ton of Ink
I have had this little baby for over 1 year now and have no complaints what so ever about the print quality.
For a little printer, the quality is stunning.
I also bought the battery pack so printing on the go from a laptop is simple. The battery pack has provided more than enough life, lasting more than my laptop's battery.
The one complaint: very poor Mac OS X software. I mean very poor. Mac users aren't used to being asked to confirm dumb questions multiple times like PC users are.
For example, there are 2 menu options to access settings regarding the ink levels and neither of them are clear.
If you choose: Ink Level Information why should you have to click 'update?' Shouldn't the software update the information before displaying it? This is like one of those annoying PC Wizards that ask you the same question multiple times.
The other choice regarding ink is "Remaining ink level setting'
Unfortunately you have to reset the ink level settings manually...a major annoyance and inconvenience. This is done by clicking the obvious Ink Counter Rest Button in the Remaining ink level setting screen. But why is there a Remaining Ink Level Indicator Setting button? There is another menu option that displays the current ink level so what's this for? Whatever it does, it sends some message to the printer. Maybe an ink level setting reset? If so, then shouldn't the other button have done it already? Are you getting confused? see what I mean!?
Who knows. It is just stupid and confusing.
The ink level indicators are almost never right anyway, so be prepared to have to change ink cartriges in a trial and error fashion when your print quality doesn't seem right.
As a matter of fact, when there is something wrong with your print quality, don't expect the Print Utility to be much help at all.
For example, When you choose "Cleaning" there is a button that says -Cleaning: Starts print head cleaning.' What do you think will happen when you click this?
Nope. It gives you an option with check boxes: All Colors, Black, or Color. then an 'OK' button. So you have chosen the colors you want to clean and click 'ok' so what do you think will happen now?
Instead of the printer beginning to clean the heads, you are given an alert box that Asks "Clean the Print Head?" and you have to click 'OK' again.
Geeez..... talk about annoying! Just clean the damn heads already!!!! The softweare doesn't seem to know it was written for Mac OS X and not Windows.
It's a shame the software is soooo bad, because this is otherwise a really great printer.
If you get this printer, you will love the photos, but be prepared to spend a lot of $$ on ink and get a little frustrated when you need to use the utility.

Excellent low budget printer
Needed low budget but capable unit for daughter, this one fit the bill perfectly. Easy set up and all the features she needed. Have been using Canon and Lexmarks for several years now after abandoning the HP product line as their quality sank and the software became bloated enough to bring older machines to a crawl.

affordable and great printer
i bought this printer because my previous printer which has scanner and copy does not work well. but this printer is great and affordable.

Great Product
If you are looking to purchase a good quality all in one printer, then all I have to say is look no further than the Canon MP460SE. It is an all around high quality product with no major flaws which were found in the previous model MP460.
The print quality is A+, scanning quaity is B- and it is a great looking design.
I've owned several ALL IN ONE printers mostly from Lexmark and this blows all of those out of the water. Choose this printer and you won't regret it. Just remember to purchase a USB cable.

incomplete
I can't tell how well the printer works because it came without the cord to link it to my computer.

The thing works!
In a nutshell: It works. I have ZERO problems with it and did not even use the manual to set it. :) Simple, fast. Prints great photos. D'you have any idea how much money I've saved since I bought this machine? Don't let the price fool you, it works.

printer review
Excellent printer. Very low cost per print if you get the paper online. I ordered two of the 108 print packs for .00 delivered. .23 cents per print. Outstanding. It has pc hookup, takes all the major flash memory cards for pc free printing. It also has bluetooth capability and can run off of a battery.
Cons: Very tacky color.

Set-up is a pain, but works fine after.
The set-up unexpectedly turned out to be a huge pain. The first surprise came when we unpacked the printer and realized Canon penny-pinchers didn't supply the usb cable. So if you really want to use your printer, buy usb cable (like Belkin F3U133-10 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Cable (10 Feet). The manual is provided on the installation CD in some arcane format, which requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer version for some totally unknown reason and doesn't work with Firefox. The installation of the driver itself (on Windows 2000) went smoothly, but then printer just refused to find paper in its own cassette. My wife and me performed shamanic rituals around the printer for 2 hours before we accidentally discovered the problem: rear cover was not inserted deep enough. Error messaging was pointing to the wrong issue. I suggest taking the rear cover out and re-inserting it, so you know at least that is covered. This was the last issue. Printer works just fine ever since and on the flip it I easily managed to set it up for network printing on Linux server as RAW.

A little tedious to set up, but then GREAT
It took me about 30 minutes to set this up, which I thought a bit excessive. But it is wonderful to have this 3-in-one available at home, and it seems to be a great machine. The 4 x 6 pictures it prints rivals the ones I make at the drugstore kiosk! I haven't scanned anything yet, but the copies I've made are good. Just be sure to let them dry before touching or they smudge. I guess all ink jets do that though.
For I think this is a great deal. And it arrived lightning-fast.

Solves the purpose
I needed it as I was hosting a party where I wanted to give all guests a framed photograph of them in the party. I have used it only once and was pretty satisfied with the performance. I wish I had gone for better photo paper though.
